Period Pants – Black
Check this product's size guide — bootcut and wide-leg jeans are a closer fit, so you may need to size up.
Meet Period Pants, knickers with built-in period protection in three flows: Light, Medium and Heavy, so you can pick what suits your day instead of reaching for a one-size-fits-all pad. This is our first product in this category, launched as a trial, and we genuinely want your feedback to help shape where we take it next.
They're built on our bestselling Full Brief Knickers, with four specialist layers doing the work instead of our usual two. They'll feel a touch more padded than our regular knickers, simply because the protection is doing its job, but they stay soft, flexible and comfortable to wear all day.
It's been over two years in development, wearer-tested by real people during real periods across all three flows, and fit tested across our full, inclusive 0 to 34 range, because period protection that only fits some bodies isn't protection at all.

Goes Great With...

Other brands stop at a size. We don't!
Most period pants stop around a 16. Even the "size-inclusive" brands top out at a 20 or 22. Ours are made and tested in every size, 1 to 34.
We spent two years getting these right, and every wear trial came back the same way: they fit, they work, and they're comfortable enough to forget about. Now we want to hear it from you. We've made 2,000 pairs to start. Wear them, and we'll email you about 10 days after your order arrives to ask how they went. Love them, and they're staying for good.

4 layers for protection
How Period Pants Work
- Gusset liner (the bit against your skin): organic cotton that pulls moisture away fast, with an antibacterial finish that keeps bacteria build-up and odour down.
- Absorbent layer: quickly draws in and holds moisture. This is the layer that changes between Light, Medium and Heavy.
- Leak-proof layer: the barrier that stops anything getting through.
- Organic cotton outer: there for comfort and breathability.
Period Pants, Answered
Periods are PERSONAL. Your flow, your cycle, your comfort, it all varies and so we want you to treat these answers as a guide and consider your own experience first and foremost.
The basics
What are Period Pants?
Knickers that do the job of a pad or tampon on their own. They're developed from our bestselling Snag knickers, with extra layers of specially designed fabric in the gusset that absorb your flow and help prevent leaks. Wear, wash, wear again - a reusable alternative to disposable period products.
How do Period Pants work?
Four layers, each with a job. The organic cotton liner against your skin pulls moisture away fast, the absorbent layer draws it in and locks it away, the leak-proof layer stops anything getting through, and the organic cotton outer keeps the whole thing soft and breathable.
How do I choose my size?
Same as our regular knickers, check the size guide on the product page to find your best fit. Ideally measure yourself during your cycle to account for any fluctuation.
If you know your size fluctuates or you experience bloating during your period then we recommend sizing up for the best leak-proof fit.
How many pairs do I need?
New to period pants? Start with 3 and see how they fit into your routine. If you want to wear them for your whole cycle, you'll probably want a few more.
Wearing them
Do they feel wet while you're wearing them?
No. The layer against your skin is designed to absorb moisture quickly, so you feel dry and comfortable rather than damp.
Can they leak, and how do I prevent leaks?
They've been fitted and tested across a wide range of body shapes for a secure fit, so leaks are unlikely - but like any period product, they can happen if the pants reach full capacity or the fit isn't right. Wearing your usual Snag size and picking the right flow level sorts most of it.
Will they smell during the day?
The liner has an antibacterial finish designed to reduce bacteria build-up - which is what causes odour - so you stay feeling fresh through wear.
Are they hygienic?
Yes. That same antibacterial finish keeps bacteria build-up down and supports freshness and hygiene for as long as you're wearing them.
Do they feel bulky?
They're slightly thicker than our regular knickers because of the extra absorbent layers, but they're designed to feel like knickers, not padding - comfortable all day, with reliable protection built in.
How long can I wear them for?
That's a you question - it depends on your flow and how often you'd normally change your period products. Go by your own body.
Absorbency & use
How much do they absorb?
Light holds up to 20ml, Medium up to 40ml and Heavy up to 60ml - for scale, an average tampon holds about 5ml.
Do I need to wear them with pads, tampons or a cup?
No - they're designed to work on their own, without disposable products. Some people like doubling up on heavier days for extra peace of mind, and that's fine too.
Can I swim in them?
No - they're not designed for swimming.
Safety & materials
Are they free from harmful chemicals?
Yes. All the fabrics we use in our Period Pants are OEKO-TEX® Standard certified, meaning they've been tested for harmful substances and are considered safe for skin contact.
Are they PFAS-free?
Yes. The OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics we use are tested to make sure they're free from PFAS and other harmful substances.
Do they only absorb blood?
They've been developed and tested specifically for period flow. We're always researching what else our products could do in future.
How do you know they actually work?
They've been wear-tested throughout development, across multiple sizes and a range of real body shapes, for comfort, fit and performance. That's also why we're asking for your feedback on this first run - the more bodies, the better the pants.
